Ingrid is from
Sahy, Slovakia, a town on the Slovak/Hungarian border, about 50 miles north of
Budapest. After completing school, she moved to Heidelberg, Germany to be a
live-in nanny. They married in her church in Sahy in 2002, and in 2003 their
daughter, Natalie, was born in Heidelberg were they lived there until Justin's
military service was finished in 2004.
Upon discharge, Justin moved to Punta Gorda to be close to family, and build
houses with his father. Before they could really settle in, they were greeted
by Hurricane Charlie. Work was plentiful, and life was good.
Justin got into woodworking because of Ingrid. She fell in love with a coffee
table in a furniture catalog, but with the responsibilities of raising a
family and starting a household, they decided they could not afford it. After
looking at the pictures, and with his experience working with wood as a
carpenter, it appeared to be something he could tackle. He started and
finished the project in short order. Because Justin made it of wood with a hand
rubbed finish, instead of particle board with a printed faux finish, there was
no comparison to what was in the catalogue. The rest of the family, after
seeing how the coffee table turned out, started putting in orders for their
coffee tables, dining tables, then cabinets and bookshelves. Soon people they
knew started asking about making beds, entertainment centers, custom armoires,
and a business was born.
Justin's business is unique because he offers a custom piece of furniture hand
built by a craftsman that can be built to a specific space, in a specific
style. It is not a standard dimension, but a size that fits it's space
perfectly. Every piece is built with care, and real wood. Instead of searching
for a piece that may or may not fit, he can help you design something that
meets your every wish. If you see something you like, but want it built in
real wood instead of particle board, he can copy it and even tweak it to meet
your needs. Lately, he has seen a huge demand for building or converting
entertainment centers to accommodate flat screen TV's and their related
equipment.
If you are looking for something and can't find exactly what you want, you are
at the right place. All his furniture is built to order without breaking the
bank. Justin will be happy to help you with design, wood and finish selection,
and deliver a beautiful piece of furniture you can show off and treasure that
will stand the test of time and become a family heirloom.
