Bill Wilkes was born and raised in Albany "Upstate" New York.  After graduating from college, he served an apprenticeship at a  commercial air conditioning company in Schenectady New York.  He became proficient in the workings of commercial air conditioning and heating, ventilation and refrigeration.  After his apprenticeship, he was offered a position as a Stationary Engineer at a New York State power plant, a position that helped him develop management skills that help him in his business today.   

While on a vacation to visit his sister in Fort Lauderdale,  the call of the tropics, coral reefs and sandy beaches convinced him that he needed to be living in Florida.  Bill relocated and was quickly grabbed up by one of the largest and most respected air conditioning and heating companies in the area.  For 23 years, he ran service calls between West Palm Beach and Miami, servicing power companies, supermarkets, schools, civic buildings and dozen of national big box retailers as well as residential customers.

During this time, Bill met his wife, Bert, who is a nurse, and life became wonderful, except they decided that the hustle and bustle of Southeast Florida was getting to be overwhelming for them. They soon discovered that the paradise and lifestyle they were seeking was only a couple of hours away in Southwest Florida.  In 2005 they relocated to Cape Coral, where Bert, as a nurse, was in high demand, while Bill went to work for another premier HVAC/Mechanical Contractor here in Lee County servicing county buildings, jails, schools, hospitals, and other commercial locations.

In 2010 Bill began his quest to become a licensed HVAC contractor and soon Incorporated Pro Action Air Inc . Although Pro Action Air Inc. is in it's infancy, Bill has 30+ years of experience providing customers with sound solutions and the highest level of workmanship and integrity.

Whether you realize it or not, there are 2 classifications of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) licenses; a Class A and a Class B license.  Without going into a lot of detail, a Class A license holder can basically do any size of application of heating, ventilation and A/C installation, while a Class B license limits the contractor to 25 tons of cooling and 500,000 BTU of heating in any one system.  Bill holds a Class A license, plus does refrigeration.  This means if you have a heating or air conditioning need, from a small house to a large school or factory, Bill is licensed and qualified to do the work, along with installing and repairing commercial freezers, ice makers, and refrigeration ... meaning he is more than qualified to take care of any need you may have, including Residential and Commercial A/C Service and Installation, Split Systems and Package Units , Pool Heater Service and Installation, Water Source Heat Pumps, Heat Recovery Units, UV Lights, In-Duct Air Purifiers, Programmable Thermostats, Commercial Refrigeration, Reciprocating/scroll /Rotary Chillers, MRI/CT Process Chillers, Cooling Towers, Maintenance Agreements, and all other HVAC services.

Bill and Bert's family consists of  their two "girls", Onyx and Marley, a pair of cute 10 pound Pomeranians.  The also enjoy the Southwest Florida lifestyle and have fun on and in the water.  Both are certified PADI scuba divers, and also enjoy getting out on their Harley Davidson for a good meal at a nice restaurant and listening to the local music talent.  Be sure to call Bill at Pro Action Air for all your heating, air conditioning and refrigeration needs!
